ok 1029? let's see this week makes... 1052... let's see how many fillers are between 29 and 52. ok 16 fillers. 449 + 16 = 465 fillers total. 42.68% fillers including this week's episode. :D so the filler percentage since ep 1029 has only gone down 1%. :D canon is 1052 - 465 = 587 canon episodes. hmm. that definitely would reduce the number of episodes you'd have to watch.

additionally? that doesn't count the number of WEEKS Japanese TV fans had to watch reruns! :> during covid alone? TMS aired... reruns every week from April 4, 2020-June 27, 2020. after that June they aired reruns every other week until August 29, 2020. that was 17 weeks of reruns... of which... five of them were fillers, most of them during that June-August every other week plan. so the Conan TV fans in Japan got nearly 12 episodes for 3 solid months' worth of canon repeats. :> so basically in 2020 Conan TV fans in Japan got a standard broadcast season length of canon Conan content! :D

although, if you go back to the earliest seasons of Conan back in the 1990's?
in S1 there were only 8 fillers amongst 28 total episodes.
S2 there were 11 fillers in 26 total episodes.
S3 14 fillers in 28 episodes... see the pattern forming? the longer the TV anime ran non-stop with only a short hiatus for Xmas and New Years... the number of fillers had to add up to higher and higher numbers per Season to keep the TV anime BEHIND Aoyama and his manga chapters.

as for Manga chapters, Jul 27, 2022 - Aug 17, 2022 is Shonen Sunday's next/present edition and Aoyama has written 1099 chapters including that one. the anime? oh Episodes 1053&54 (Aug. 6, 13) will be manga Chapters 1051&54. ;) so the anime is still... today... hmm... 45 chapters behind Aoyama. :D

so if he doesn't hurry up and finish Conan before he keels over and croaks? :D hehahah! we won't be finishing the Conan TV anime for more than a few years! :D

but don't worry, Aoyama has said more than once in interviews during these past 25 years that he has a plan in place to complete Conan JIC he does kick the bucket unexpectedly... what that plan is... he won't say! :D he did joke once though, that if he's at his desk working on Conan when he passes... he will do his very very best to write a clear and EASY to understand 'dying message!' heh! hahah! :D

Although, Detective Conan started as a detective show and it can survive on a weekly basis as a kids detective mystery show. I honestly don't really mind fillers and cases because it's still something to watch

I mean, Conan is a weekly TV show that does reruns etc. in Japan so I see fillers are just it serving it’s purpose as a TV show but maybe that’s just me.

lol! :D but of course, it is a business! :D there's even some bits and pieces of rumors that TMS basically keeps cranking out Conan all these decades for pure profits. but i personally think it is balanced with alot of other shows TMS has been making for years now. just look at this filmography of theirs on MAL myanimelist dot net/anime/producer/73/TMS_Entertainment that's a HECK of a lot of titles they've been the studio for or helped produce. then of course there's the actual Japanese TV network 'portrayed' in Conan YTV (Yomiuri Telecasting) which is also one of the producers for Conan. ;) they've also been making money hand over fist with Conan. :D if this show wasn't bringing profits in for YTV, what other forms of entertainment would they not have the budget to make for Japanese audiences?
